Edgar Scrivener of Ipswich (England)

Edgar was a cousin of Susan Badcock (nee Scrivener) and they corresponded for about 40 years. In his letter of 25 July 1910, he included eight photos of scenes around Ipswich, England.

Edgar operated as an ironmonger merchant and “oil and colour man”. Other Scriveners were photographers.

The Scrivener family had lived at Ipswich for generations. His father was John Trigg Scrivener (1818-1895) and mother, Martha, (nee Shreeve) (1819-1859). Edgar was their eldest child and had seven siblings.

Edgar married Catherine Whitehead (1849-1943) on 27 Oct. 1870. They had six children.
